FUFC Foundational Friday Webinar:
Is Your Tree Abuse the Same as Mine?
Determining Whether an Abused Tree Shall be Restored or Removed.
🗓️ Date: Friday, May 29th
⏰ Time: 12:00 PM ET
🎙️ Presented by:  John Harris & John Snow
Description
We are continuing to test our research results and our recommendations with our FUFC peer group by presenting more terms and definitions from our Model Municipal Tree Ordinance for Florida project. This session focuses on two terms that are key to the health and structure of our urban forests in Florida communities. Protecting trees from abuse and requiring industry standards for maintenance. This is as basic as it gets for why to have tree protection codes. Related to what is or is not Tree Abuse is the determination of whether a tree is Effectively Destroyed in codes that use that term. Let’s discuss the use of these terms and some of the conflicting decisions being made about prescribing restoration versus deciding that removal and replacement is the single action to prescribe.
